Tuesday, March 30, 2010

Model Cici Ali at Jason Wu
Regina King in a beautiful sheer silk chiffon dress at the Our Wedding movie premiere. The nude pumps are subtle enough to keep the focus on the dress and not matchy-matchy.
Keisha Whitaker in a sheer purple gown at the Vanity Fair Oscar's party.
Fefe Dobson shows a little leg in her fitted leggings with sheer calves.
 Revealing red at Dior.
Revealing looks bring spring a new swing. Catch them in your sheerest tops or your slinkiest gowns. Exposing just enough skin to almost be a sin, sheer looks are in.

Fashion & Style News: Tom Ford Assembling Design Team for Women's Line

From Ford's final run at Gucci for fall 2004.
Designer Tom Ford is compiling his design team for his new women's ready-to-wear collection. Known for his spectacular marketing efforts and popularity among the celebrity set, Ford has yet to set a date for when his collection will launch. But one thing is clear, he's going after the best designers in the business to help him create the line.

Current designers on tentatively on board include Givenchy women's ready-to-wear designer, Caroline Tixier and Alexander McQueen accessories designer Pablo Coppola. Rumors are circulating that Ford plans to have the collection ready for fall 2011, giving him a little more than a year to prepare.

The former Gucci designer is said to be contemplating a New York or Milan debut as well as scouting for retail partnerships for the brand. Financing is also an issue, as many investors are reluctant to shell out money due to the economy.

Currently Ford has a licensing deal with the Ermenegildo Zegna Group for his men's collection, as well as the Marcolin Group for eyewear and Estee Lauder for fragrances and beauty products. We'll be watching Ford closely as his women's brand develops.

Style Scopes: The Aries Fashionista

 Mariah Carey - March 27, 1969
Aries. Head-turner. Diva. Sexy. Charming. Hot. Explosive. The 1st Lady of the Zodiac is a force to be reckoned with. When the girl steps out, she does it with flair. And it's not intentional, the Aries girl is simply caught up in her own world and wants to be the best she can be.

The Aries girl is creative, a trend-setter and the kind of girl most people are proud to know. She loves fashion and doesn't mind going all out to get what she wants. When she finds something she likes, it isn't unusual for her to get it in every color. But don't think she's redundant. She thrives on changing it up a bit and not being too predictable. She likes to shock people, mostly herself, and she gets a lot of compliments that way.

When it comes to getting her shop on, the Aries fashionista tends to go overboard with her spending. But you can't be mad at her, she's just got it like that! Aries like Victoria Beckham, who is just too fabulous for her own good, knows the ins and outs of the fashion world. Let's face it, the Aries girl is just like Mariah's song That Chick!

Signature Color: Red
Stone: Diamond
It Bag: Louis Vuitton
Shoes: A pair of peep-toe pumps with the "red bottoms" a.k.a Chrisitan Louboutins.
Sign Mates: Aretha Franklin, Lela Rochon, Chaka Khan, Diana Ross, Jazmine Sullivan and moi!
